Former Olympic ski champion Bill Johnson remains in a coma following his horrific downhill racing crash four days ago, but is showing signs of improvement, according to staff at the Kalispell Regional Medical Centre in Montana.
Johnson, 40, underwent four hours of brain surgery after he crashed on the eve of the US Alpine championships. His head hit hard snow and he was thrown through two layers of safety netting.
