The continuing dry impacted on the number of cattle for sale at Rongotea this week as vendors wait for a good dose of rain to raise the enthusiasm of buyers reported Darryl Harwood of NZ Farmers Livestock.

2 year Friesian — Hereford steers 350 kg made $885.

2 year Friesian — Hereford bulls 420 kg — 642 kg made $2.43/kg — $2.66/kg, Jersey bulls 405 kg — 520 kg made $2.17/kg — $2.42/kg and Speckle Park cross bulls 415 kg made $1000.

2 year Friesian — Hereford heifers 446 kg made $1090.

18 month Friesian steers 382 kg made $860.

Yearling Angus cross bulls 270 kg — 392 kg made $1.63/kg — $1.68/kg.

Yearling Friesian- Hereford cross heifers 282 kg made $720.

Weaner Friesian bulls 154 kg — 175 kg made $500 — $505, Friesian- Hereford bulls 125 kg — 182 kg made $530 — $660 and Jersey bulls 165 kg made $410.

Weaner Friesian- Hereford heifers 152 kg — 156 kg made $540 — $610 and Angus cross heifers 233 kg made $670.

Friesian boner cows 537 kg — 560 kg made $1.41/kg — $1.48/kg, cross bred boners 462 kg — 537 kg made $1.39/kg — $1.44/kg and Jersey boners 462 kg — 520 kg made $1.44/kg — $1.51/kg.
