A good yarding of quality prime sheep created a strong opening to the Dannevirke Sheep Sale on November 8.

There were 1500 prime sheep up for sale and the prices paid reflected quality of animals with the top price for prime ewes reaching $179/head and a pen of prime lambs reaching $153/head. Most prime ewes ranged from $110/head to $150/head.

This top pen of 252 spring lambs from Maungahui Station fetched the top price of $128/head.
