Rotorua farm consultancy business, Perrin Ag Consultants hosted a charity quiz night to fundraise $3738 for Bay of Plenty Rural Support Trust.
Seventeen teams of farmers and rural professionals battled it out for "The Smartest Team in Town" award at Hennessey's Irish Bar.
Lee Matheson, Perrin Ag managing director, delivered eight rounds of challenging questions as quiz master for the event while local auctioneer Phil Hereford sold off members of the Perrin Ag team as experts for technical rounds.
Many businesses donated prizes or auction items including a $700 toolbox, a half tonne of fertiliser, coffee machine and restaurant vouchers.
Anika Sandford, Perrin Ag Consultants Office Manager said the team was rapt with the success of the event.
"For our annual fundraiser, we decided Rural Support Trust would be a worthy cause to promote and fundraise for.
"It was incredible to see over 100 people turn up to support the event and the generosity of businesses who donated prizes and items for auction."
The Perrin Ag team also took part in the Rotorua Ekiden Relay around Lake Rotorua on to raise awareness for Rural Support Trust, with Mr Matheson running his leg of the
race in a milk maid costume for $250 to raise a bit extra for Rural Support.
Bay of Plenty Rural Support Trust was formed in 2004 when farms were hit by severe floods.
Rural Support Trust is a charitable trust for rural people and their families as they respond to and recover from adverse events like a drought or flood, economic or environmental challenges which affects farmers' livelihoods.
