Today's panel on The Country is Resilient Farmer Doug Avery and "truck driver turned Agri CEO" Shane McManaway, two high profile farmers who have a bone to pick with PETA.

Doug Avery has unearthed a photo of a PETA campaign with actress Alicia Silverstone stating "I'd rather go naked than wear wool." Avery says this is indicative of attitudes today where people are basing opinions on "emotion rather than science."

Shane McManaway reckons the farming PR battle has lead to a groundswell of support and this has culminated in the Morrinsville protest on Monday.

The panel also discuss their brainchild Farmers are Good Buggers Too which has been generating a lot of positive feedback.
