Nathan Guy used to be the Minister for Primary Industries but these days he is happy to be called a farmer.

The Country's Jamie Mackay suggests Guy's new title should be "The Shadow Spokesperson for Agriculture" before asking him for his opinion on what is happening to his former ministry.

Guy says he is "really concerned" with the Ministry for Primary Industries being broken up into what he called "little fiefdoms" as he believes it leads to a lack of sharing resources.

Mr Guy predicts MPI employees will start looking inwards and stop supporting New Zealand's farmers.

Also in today's interview - Nathan Guy talks about biosecurity, water storage and film director James Cameron's criticism of animal agriculture.
