Last month's Zumba Pink Party was a great success, say organisers Kaareen Hotereni and Shirleen Ngawhare.
"With ticket sales and koha combined, we raised just under $2000, all of which is going to Breastcare Specialists Taranaki."
Shirleen says the party was not just great fun, but also inspirational.
"We remembered our loved ones and paid tribute to those we have recently lost. A few tears fell but the stories shared by the Breast Care Specialists Taranaki team gave us hope.
"Our guest speaker, Donna Waitere, inspired us all and lifted our spirits when speaking about losing her mum."
The success of the night, says Shirleen, was because of the collective efforts of all involved.
"We want to thank all our sponsors - Stratford High School, Thyme Out, In Stitches, Lander & Co, Philip Fleming of Armstrong & Fleming Accountants, BDO, Judd Optometrists and Tasman Toyota Car Sales at Fitzroy. Nga mihi nui ki a koutou katoa.
Thank you all."
Shirleen says anyone who is interested in joining a Zumba class can find one near them on the Zumba Taranaki Classes page on Facebook.
"It's a great way to get fit, have fun and get involved in supporting great causes through events like this recent Pink Party."
