Not only did Sam Haggart win the Best Service Person Youth category on Saturday night, but she also won the hearts of the audience with her acceptance speech as she received her award from Brian Darth.
Sam's speech was named best of the night by the hosts of the evening, More FM's Ken and Anna, who referred to it a few times throughout the evening.
Sam thanked her colleagues at Tūtaki Youth Inc "for helping me to be the best I can be," and said working there in her role as youth worker was the best job possible.
The judges comments on Sam described her as evoking a sense of trust and respect, saying it was clear she delivered a professional and useful service.
"I would happily let my children attend programmes she was in charge of."
Tūtaki Youth Inc is based on juliet St in Stratford. Visit their website for more details.
Sam says she was amazed to be named the winner of the award category, sponsored by Brian Darth Funeral Services.
"Even just being nominated was humbling."
Sam also thanked award sponsors and the SBA for organising and hosting the event.
"It is great to have an awards night like this."
