The Stratford Aero Club Sports Flyers Inc are extremely proud to announce the opening of our new Avgas fuel facility at Stratford Aerodrome.

The project has been a huge learning curve for everyone involved and still is!

This community-funded project is now operational, with thanks to our build and funding partners TSB Community Trust, Taranaki Electricity Trust and Stratford District Council as well as Warner Construction, Ferndene Quarries, Gilbarco and our fuel supplier.

Project manager Alan Warner has driven the project from the beginning and got us to this fantastic result - an awesome community facility. Both Alan and Gary Marsh have put in a huge amount of donated time and equipment to make sure the project kept moving forward.

A big thanks also to the Stratford District Council who has supported the project from the beginning, especially parks and properties assets manager Neil Cooper and his awesome team for all their help. Also thanks are due to every one who helped along the way.

All funds from the facility will be put back into the club for upgrading of the fleet and upkeep of the Aero Club facilities.

Payment of fuel is either by Eftpos or Visa and Master cards. Fuel is available during daylight hours only with a full security video system in place. Instructions are on the terminal making it easy for people to use.

For more information check out the club blog. Search online for Stratford Aerodrome blog for the latest information. We will soon have an Aerodrome weather station in place so keep an eye on the blog as we will advise on there when it goes live.

A reminder of our 85th birthday celebrations on January 28 next year.

If you require more information call Nick Furmage ( President SACSF) on 020 404 28854.
