More than 60 households in the Stratford district received a bit of seasonal cheer in December as part of the annual mayoral Christmas gift appeal.
Community development adviser Leanne Richards says the households consisted of families and individuals who were nominated by individuals or community organisations.
Leanne, assisted by members of the Stratford District Youth Council, then made up individual boxes of gifts for each of the recipients. Leanne says the youth councillors were not given the names or any identifying details of the recipients for privacy reasons, they were simply given ages and genders to help them put together the gift hampers.
The gifts were then delivered to all the recipients in time for Christmas.
Leanne says she was delighted with the donations received for this year's appeal.
"The community has been very generous with plenty of new items donated as well as gently loved ones. This has meant we have been able to deliver hampers to over 60 households, hopefully brightening some people's days and helping them have a happy Christmas."
