Join Blue September in the fight against Prostate Cancer this year.
More than 2 Kiwi men will die every day from prostate cancer this year – mates, fathers, brothers, grandfathers. If you haven't been directly affected by prostate cancer, you're bound to know someone who has.
That's where the Prostate Cancer Foundation of New Zealand comes in – each year they run their Blue September campaign, helping raise life saving funds across the country.
Every little bit helps to provide support, campaign for greater awareness, and advocate for better diagnosis and treatment outcomes.
There are two simple ways to get involved this year, either by having a Blue Do, or signing our petition.
Have a Blue do! Have you got any social event, party, breakfast or birthday coming up in September? Theme it Blue and raise funds to help PCFNZ fight prostate cancer.
You can register your Blue Do here and receive a free event pack to get you started!
Free prostate checks should be available to Kiwi men – do you agree?
Sign the Blue September petition to help us take this to the beehive!
For prostate cancer, early diagnosis is critical to survival, as the disease is very treatable when caught early.
Many men don't get tested because they think nothing is wrong, they think they are bullet-proof and it won't happen to them. Very often there are no symptoms in the early stages as well, adding fuel to the fire. Worse than this, sometimes it is because they are not offered a test by their GP.
There's no formal screening programme for prostate cancer, so the least men should expect is a free check-up! Sign here if you agree, and help PCFNZ take this to Parliament!
