An interim order suppressing the name of a 23-year-old Hastings process worker charged with raping and murdering a female jogger is likely to be lifted at a court hearing in Hastings today.
Defence counsel Russell Fairbrother is not expected to renew an application for name suppression when the man appears on the first of two days scheduled for the taking of depositions.
Margaret Lynne Baxter, a 37-year-old Wellington finance and banking industry worker known as Lynnie, is alleged to have been hit by a car and abducted while on a Sunday morning countryside jog just out Flaxmere on January 21.
In Hawke's Bay for Wellington's anniversary weekend, she is alleged to have then been raped and bashed to death.
