A new caterer in Parliament will bring Logan Brown to the Beehive.
Parliamentary Service announced today that Te Papa's 'ICON Catering' has been awarded the contract to provide catering services at Parliament, starting early next year.
The deal will see Logan Brown, Wellington's iconic top-tier restaurant, directly involved in the design and menu of Bellamy's dining room in the Beehive.
Te Papa's Director-Commercial Ian Crowe says this is an exciting opportunity for Te Papa.
"We are very excited to have this opportunity," says Mr. Crowe. "Parliament and Te Papa have shared values as places that represent and serve New Zealand, and this partnership is a great fit.
"We will be concentrating our efforts on bringing excellent offerings to Parliament and having a focus on local and national providers to create healthy, fresh and delicious Kiwi cuisine."
ICON will also operate the new coffee outlet in Parliament's Visitor Centre which will open this summer, offering food and drinks to visitors to enjoy before or after touring the Parliament buildings.
The transition to ICON will take place over the summer break and the existing catering supplier's staff will have the option of transitioning to the new provider.
ICON have also committed to paying staff a living wage within two years.
