Ladi6 to play two shows in Northland
New Zealand's queen of hip-hop and soul Ladi6 is playing two shows in Northland on her 17 date Outta Time Tour this June and July. Ladi6 will deliver 13 dates to the regions, with full performances of the Royal Blue 3000 album accompanied by her producer Parks on DJ duties with his MPC live and homemade hand-crafted modular synth.
Taking the tour to the regions was something Ladi6 said she specifically wanted to do. Ladi6 will play at Tikipunga Tavern, Whangarei, on June 29 and The Duke of Marlborough Tavern, Russell, on June 30.
SH1 detour
A daytime detour is in place for southbound traffic on State Highway 1 south of Whangarei today. New Zealand Transport Agency will be carrying out resurfacing works on SH1 between Marsden Point Rd and Port Marsden Highway (SH15A) between 9am and 1pm. The work is weather dependent.
SH1 will be reduced to one lane for northbound traffic, with a stop/go control in place. Southbound traffic will have a full detour via SH15A, Salle Rd, Marsden Point Rd and back on to SH1. The detour is not suitable for heavy trucks, these will be managed onsite and allowed through as traffic allows.
Transport talks
Northland's three district councils' mayors and regional council chairman met with the Minister of Transport Phil Twyford in Wellington last night to discuss matters concerning Northland and to urge the Government to proceed with major transport projects promised to the region, including four-laning State Highway 1 south of Whangarei.
