Three people have been injured - one seriously - in a crash on Paekakariki Hill Rd in the Kapiti Coast tonight.
The two-car crash happened on the southern side of the winding rural road around 5.55pm, according to police.
"One person has serious injuries, one has moderate injuries and one has minor injuries. A helicopter is responding to transport the serious patient to hospital," police said.
The road is closed currently and diversions are in place.
The winding road is a key route into Wellington, connecting State Highway 1 to the Hutt Valley. On December 3 it was also the scene of a serious crash between a car and motorbike which left one person with life-threatening injuries.
