The lights went green on Saturday at Blastacars Hamilton as they pulled their largest crowd ever at the opening of their new track.
Groups of people filtered into the new facility throughout the day to take part in the opening.
Christopher Williams, director of Blastacars Hamilton said the day fulfilled his expectations.
"It was awesome and it was the most customers we have ever had on one day," Mr Williams said.
"We had 340 people come and race."
Blastacars Hamilton put on a special prize for everyone who came along.
Everyone who paid for their session also got to spin a prize wheel with numerous prizes given out on the day.
"We gave out a lot of awesome prizes such as t-shirts, and Mamasdonuts got on board and gave out prizes as well."
The feedback on the new track has been overwhelmingly positive, with Mr Williams happy that more people from Hamilton now know about Blastacars.
"They just happened to drive past when I was out on the road with the girls waving the signs and came inside."
"That is what we really wanted - to open the track up to the wider Hamilton community and not just the few driver enthusiasts who would drive all the way to the back at our old track."
The goal for Mr Williams now is to get the scoring system working.
Currently the scores are set on who can drive around the track the fastest, but Mr Williams wants to change that to have scores to be more focused on drifting.
Blastacars has a drift kart track that has been running in Hamilton for decades.
The existing 190m track in their old building at Duke Street was beginning to show wear and tear so the team decided to move up the street to 82 Duke Street to a refurbished facility.
