Hamiltonians will have the chance to see some of the best local Muay Thai fighters next week as they take on competitors from around New Zealand.

The event will be held on September 24 from 1-6pm at Stormforce Gym, with local trainer Norm Graham supplying half of the cards for the fights.

"We are having an event at our gym that is celebrating our 20-year anniversary and we are marking it by having two of our fighters who will be competing for title honours on this show," Norm said.

The event will host 12 fighters in total.

"One of my fighters, John Clapperton, will be defending his recently-won title against a tough fighter from Gisborne, while my other fighter, Rangi Haggie, will be fighting for a vacant title against a former wellington based-fighter who now fights out of another local gym here in Hamilton," he said.

Stormforce Gym on Vialou Street will provide the venue, with tickets costing $30 each or tables available for $400.
