Qantas Airways is to launch a permanent main-trunk domestic air service in New Zealand.
The airline announced today that from June, four Boeing 737s will fly ten daily flights between Auckland and Wellington and eight between Auckland and Christchurch.
It will also join with Nelson-based airline Origin Pacific to fly regional routes as well as link Wellington to Christchurch.
Fares are expected to range from full business class to cheaper ones matching those of no-frills airline Freedom Air.
