An interactive exhibition featuring some of the world's most iconic landmarks built entirely from Lego is coming to Auckland Museum.
Brickman: Wonders of the World will arrive in Auckland in late March following a stint at Claudelands in Hamilton, as well as a two-month run at Te Papa in Wellington, during which over 100,000 punters visited the exhibition.
Created by Ryan "The Brickman" McNaught, one of only fourteen Lego Certified Professionals in the world, the exhibition is the culmination of 4,944 hours of work.
50 Lego models will be on display, including recreations of the Taj Mahal, Michelangelo's Statue of David, The Great Wall of China, the Empire State Building (featuring King Kong), the Leaning Tower of Pisa and the Arc de Triomphe.
The public will also be able to bring their Lego skills along and take part in some of the model making.
"This is like nothing that has been seen before in Auckland," says McNaught. "Every model is brand new and infinitely more detailed than anything I've ever created."
Brickman: Wonders of the World opens at Auckland Museum on Friday March 30, and runs to Sunday May 13.
Tickets are on sale now from Ticketek.
